MARIS Mapping


Interactive Mapping

An interactive service provided by a map server ( MARIS using GeoCortex Essentials software ) that allow a user to view, search, identify, and print various information from a pre-designed map from ArcGIS Server. These services include a Mississippi base map, Education, MS Redistricting, and National Hydrography among others.

Map Services

A map service is a standard protocol for serving (over the internet) georeferenced map images which a map server generates using data from a GIS database. These services can be pulled into ArcGIS Online, Arc Script, ArcMap, and Google Earth. This includes elevation, imagery, soils, search and rescue, and various base data layers.

Image Services

An image service is a standard protocol for serving raster datasets (imagery from various sources and resolutions) over the internet from a map server that generates using raster data such as aerial photography from a GIS database. These services can be pulled into ArcGIS Online, Arc Script, ArcMap, and Google Earth.

Printable Maps

Maps pre-generated by MARIS staff (and other State agencies) in Adobe .pdf format that can be printed using most software packages. These include Federal and MS Legislative maps, base maps, Census maps, Court maps, MS Dept. of Transportation Maps, and MS Dept. of Archives and History Historic Maps.

Other Maps

Other map services available from other various sources that can be pulled into most GIS systems. These include State agencies, PDDs, counties, cities, federal agencies, historic maps, and other miscellaneous map services.
