NAIP 2012

APFO (http://www.apfo.usda.gov) has awarded contracts for 2012 NAIP imagery.

From AFPO USDA:

Processing and final review has begun on the MS 2012 NAIP data by USDA staff. They should be completed by the end of the month and our existing order should be in soon after. We plan on providing county mosaics and 4 band DOQQS for download and through Image services by the first part of April.

Surdex (http://www.surdex.com) has been awarded the NAIP acquisition contract in Mississippi for 2012.

The 2012 imagery will be 1-meter resolution, 4-band (natural color and color infrared). The 2012 imagery will be available via the APFO image services as 3-band natural color (NC) and 1-band color infrared (CIR).

The flight season for Mississippi is June 15 to August 31, with the availability of an extension.


NOTE: MARIS will be receiving the 2012 NAIP data by Friday April 26th.

MARIS then will be:

  1. Renaming 3- Band County Mosaics and zipping for download (45GB)
  2. Creating the 4-band statewide image service (653 GB)
  3. Taking orders for the data via DVD (Max 12 counties) and external hard drive – we will not have the 4 band online for downloading
